AAA Texas: Weekend Gas Watch - 2nd Week Lower Fuel Prices

IRVING, TX October 12, 2007; Texas motorists are enjoying lower fuel prices for the second straight week, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch. The Texas average dropped four cents to $2.65 a gallon.
"All cities surveyed this week fell two cents or more per gallon," said AAA Texas spokeswoman Rose Rougeau. "The downturn in pump prices has been aided by a relatively mild hurricane season and lower demand."
Corpus Christi bumped Houston to have the lowest average in the state at $2.54 a gallon -- down six cents. El Paso pushed past Amarillo to have the highest average at $2.79 a gallon -- down four cents.
AAA Texas Fuel Savings Tip of the Week
Maintain steady speeds for the best fuel economy. A car uses extra fuel when it accelerates.
