FINALS
The best of the best in NHRA's Southeast Division
Summit Racing Series have converged on South Georgia Motorsports Park to
compete for team and individual honors at the 2007 Summit Racing Series
Southwest Division Finals. More then 500 drivers in Super Pro, Pro,
Sportsman and Super Pro Bike will continue to compete Saturday and Sunday
for team and individual honors.
Winners in each category will advance to compete against winners
from NHRA's other six divisions at the NHRA Finals in Pomona, Calif., in
November. Each winner will receive $3,500 regardless of there performance at
the finals and the winners will pocket an additional $5,000. Tomorrow's
action will include the Race of Champions which is a race within a race that
pits the top points-earning drivers in each class from participating tracks
against each other in head-to-head competition. The Race of Champions
competitors are vying for a share of the $4,700 purse.
Gates open at South Georgia Motorsports Park at 8.a.m. on
Saturday and 7 a.m. on Sunday. The track is located 12 miles north of
Valdosta, Ga. Take I-75 (from north or south) to Exit 32, Old Coffee Road.
Take Old Coffee Road east to Highway 41. Go north to the track. For more
