Julien Penaruiz Ready To Draft To ARCA Career Best At Talladega

Julien Penaruiz Ready To Draft To ARCA Career Best At Talladega
TALLADEGA, Alabama (October 3, 2007) - - ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) rookie
Julien Penaruiz has experienced a lot this year. From short tracks to speedways
he’s educed it all but this week; Penaruiz will take on his latest challenge,
Talladega Superspeedway.

Driving the No. 93 Red Oil Jeans Chevrolet Monte Carlo for veteran car owner
and driver David Boggs, the 30-year old rookie heads to the 2.666-mile
speedway looking not only to learn but maneuver a finish that will put the Paris,
France native in the spotlight.
“I’m really looking forward to competing at Talladega Superspeedway this
week,?? said Penaruiz, who now resides in California. “I’ve heard an awful lot
about the track. I’ve studied and watch races from their in the past and I
feel that can pay off for me when I take to the track on Thursday.??
Invading the track with new restrictor plate equipment, Penaruiz knows a lot
is on the line, but he doesn’t let the pressure bother him.
“Anytime you go to a new track, there’s pressure,?? he said. “David and the
whole K&B Motorsports team have worked hard since our last race preparing
the car and motor and I honestly feel we’ll be right up there in the mix.??
Penaruiz sounded, “Practice is going to extremely important for us. We didn’
t have the opportunity to test so we have to really shake down the car
during practice on Thursday. Once we know were we are at we can focus our efforts
on qualifying. I know it doesn’t necessarily matter where you start, but
where you finish does. Our setups will change all day long but we’re prepared for
that.??
When asked what his primary goal was in Friday’s ARCA RE/MAX 250 it didn’t
take long for Penaruiz to reply.
“Finish. That’s our main objective for Friday’s race. We need to finish.
The race is going to be a hectic one. It’s a long race, but it will go by very
quickly. I know you need to have drafting partners for the race and my goal
during the Happy Hour (final practice) session on Friday morning is to get
myself in group that I am comfortable with and know that my car will draft to
the front.??
“I’ve also heard plenty about the big one. It’s not a matter of if; it’s a
matter of when it will happen on Friday. Hopefully though, it won’t. I hope
that we put ourselves in a position where if the big one does strike we won’t
be involved. Although, I know just as everyone does on the team that you can’
t do anything about it. I’m not going to think about it, I’m just going to
race hard and try to deliver my team and sponsor with our best finish of the
season.??
Speaking of his sponsor, Red Oil Jeans will return as the primary backer of
Penaruiz’s hotrod for the 45th ARCA race held at Talladega Superspeedway.
“Talladega is a huge race for our sponsor,?? said Penaruiz, nicknamed “
Frenchie?? by members of his K&B Motorsports team. “This year has been a huge
learning experience for our team and we’re doing everything we possibly can to
award our sponsor with some exposure. Friday’s race is a prime opportunity for
us to continue to accomplish that.??
Catchit Cam will also sport their decals on the No. 93 machine as an
associate sponsor as Penaruiz prepares to make his third career start on Friday.
Penaruiz whose plans for 2008 include the ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR
Busch Series is scheduled to participate in the 2007 season finale next Sunday at
Toledo Speedway in the Hantz Group 200 presented by Belle Tire on October
14.
“We have two races left this year. A superspeedway and a short track. Two
very different races, but with the knowledge and experience our K&B Motorsports
has, I know we can end the season on a high note.??
The ARCA RE/MAX 250 (94 laps/250 miles) is the 22nd of 23 races on the 2007
ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The 45th ARCA race held at Talladega
Superspeedway is a two-day show. Practice begins Thursday, October 4 with a two and a
half hour practice session planned from 9:00-11:30am. ARCA SIM Factory pole
qualifying is set for later in the day at 3:30pm Local Time. A “Happy Hour??
final practice has been etched into the schedule for Friday, October 5 for
forty-five minutes from 10:05am-10:50am Local Time. The event will take the green
flag on October 5 shortly after 4:00pm Local Time. The race will be televised
