Alcan Supplies Aluminum Sheet for New Peugeot 308
PARIS, October 1 -- Alcan announced today that it will supply PSA Peugeot Citroën with aluminum sheet for the hood of the new Peugeot 308. Peugeot is expecting to produce 350,000 units of its 308 series in 2008 making it the highest volume vehicle in Europe using aluminum body panels. The aluminum sheet is produced at Alcan's Specialty Sheet rolling and recycling operations in Neuf-Brisach, France.

Alcan's new lightweight solutions will help contribute to the automotive industry's efforts to reduce CO2 emissions. In Europe, every 100kg of reduced vehicle weight translates into a 6% reduction in CO2 emissions, or 9g/km.
