Compete and Google Automotive Study to Reveal Shrinking ''In-Market'' Window of Opportunity for Marketers

BOSTON--Compete, Inc., a leading web analytics company, today announced that it will release the findings of its latest automotive study, The Automotive Buying Process; A Search Perspective, in a webinar co-hosted with Google on October 11th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. ET. Compete and Google will reveal insights from the study that point to a shortening of the automotive buying cycle and the critical role of search throughout the process.

Competes Google-commissioned study identified more than 1,800 car buyers from January through July 2007 and analyzed their online shopping and research behavior in the six months leading to their vehicle purchase.

During the October 11th webinar, experts from the two companies will guide marketers through the study and recommend strategies for targeting vehicle shoppers in the ever-shrinking "in-market" window of opportunity. The study and the webinar will also explore the importance of the online channel and search in the automotive buying process and how in-market consumers use search when researching a vehicle prior to purchase.
