Progressive.com Wins 2007 WebAward and Receives Top Honors from Keynote
MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio--The Web site of The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies – www.progressive.com – received multiple honors from the Web Marketing Association (WMA) and Keynote Competitive Research, the industry analysis group of Keynote . Progressive.com was awarded a 2007 “Best Insurance Web Site” WebAward from the WMA for outstanding achievement in Web site development; and ranked #1 in Keynote’s two-part study of auto insurance Web sites.
“We’re thrilled to receive these honors,” said Toby Alfred, general manager, customer acquisition, Progressive. “Progressive sets the standard when it comes to continually innovating the online customer experience. Receiving a WebAward and getting top spots in the Keynote study is true recognition of this effort.”
The WMA was founded in 1997 to help set high standards for Internet marketing and Web site development. It produces the annual WebAward Competition which names the best Web sites in 96 industries; sites are evaluated on seven criteria including design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, and use of technology. More than 2,400 sites from 40 countries were judged during this year’s competition. This is the fifth WebAward won by Progressive.
Keynote conducted a two-part study of leading auto insurance Web sites:
- Customer Experience Rankings for Auto Insurance Web Sites, which examines the online experience of more than 1,500 consumers as they interact with leading auto insurance Web sites. In this study, progressive.com was ranked the #1 Web site overall across 250+ customer experience metrics and was the consistently top ranked site in terms of: product satisfaction; privacy and security; and in the quote and research process, as well as in providing shopping guidance.
- Service Level Rankings for Auto Insurance Web Sites, which examines the technical performance of leading auto insurance Web sites, including site reliability (an indicator of being widely available with little to no downtime) and responsiveness (an indicator of how quickly pages are loaded and transactions are completed). In this study, Progressive ranked #1 in reliability.
Progressive is always looking for innovative ways to re-invent the online customer experience to make it easy for people to shop for and buy insurance. It was the first major car insurer in the world to introduce a Web site (1995), first to sell auto policies real-time online (1997) and first to give its customers online access and control of their policies via a customer service site (1998). In 2006, Progressive launched an interactive online claims reporting tool that allows customers to report a claim and track its status from start to finish.
Progressive.com also features the first-ever auto insurance “Rate Ticker,” showing Progressive rates side-by-side with those of other top insurers in real-time, and uses “Talk to Me” Voice Over Internet Protocol technology, allowing online shoppers to speak with a licensed sales representative immediately, over the Internet, with a click of the mouse.
