ALMS (BRASELTON) - FIELD NARROWED FOR 2007 FROM THE FANS AWARD
Voting for this year's "From the Fans" award will remain open until midnight October 7.
The nomination process has closed and voting is under way for this year's From the Fans award, one of the most coveted honors in the American Le Mans Series paddock. This award is presented annually at the season-ending banquet in Monterey to the person or group who has made the greatest contribution to the American Le Mans Series and sports car racing during the past year.
Past winners have included Dr. Don Panoz, Wolfgang Ulrich, Jan Magnussen, Rob Dyson (twice), Doug Fehan, Dave Maraj and last year's winner John Hindhaugh. Fans submitted a fantastic crop of nominees this year but only the top five remain.
This year's finalists are Robert Clarke/Acura, Highcroft Racing's Duncan Dayton, Corvette Racing's Doug Fehan and Gary Pratt, and Roger Penske. Voting will remain open through midnight October 7 to coincide with the close of the Petit Le Mans weekend.
Voting for this year's Most Popular Driver award also remains open through October 7 as well. The winner will be revealed at the Monterey banquet.
