Segway and PixelMEDIA Focus on Taking Customers for a Ride

The professional services consultancy recently announced the launch of the redesigned website, Segway.com, as a multi-faceted experience tailored for Segway’s key audience segments.

In addition to bringing the sensation of motion to the web, they also wanted to create a global presence while driving prospective customers to local dealers.
PixelMEDIA addressed the overall architecture goals by reorganizing the site by audience segment, allowing Segway to market appropriately to each while ensuring they were equally prioritized. Now representatives of Segway’s growing markets—federal and local government, police and security, golf courses and resorts—can find answers and information designed just for them.
Segway’s potential customers can explore specialized content and rich media without ever leaving the page or site. Flash-based video comes alive through a custom XML-driven video player, right on the page. Videos, 3D product renderings, and motion-infused image treatments all add to the feeling of movement while giving customers engaging and informative tools for product configuration. Initial usability research guided these aspects of the design, as PixelMEDIA interviewed users and partners and conducted prototype testing. Now those same users are back online, peppering chat rooms with their kudos for the new Segway.com—and asking questions about the products they see in action.
