DETROIT - September 25, 2007: General Motors (GM) is reporting new light designs, both in and outside of its vehicles, are serving a dual purpose: providing safety and beauty. One lighting scheme, entitled “Jeweled,” is a set of clear headlamps designed to give the car a more three-dimensional look. However, many lights also improve a vehicle’s safety. GM indicates several manufacturers are offering adaptive headlights that turn as the car turns, providing better visibility when rounding corners at night.
