ALMS (ROAD ATLANTA) - VOICES OF PETIT: DIRK MULLER
Petersen/White Lightning's Dirk Muller will make his first start at Petit Le Mans since 2001.
With a class win and podium finishes in the first three runnings of Petit Le Mans, Dirk Muller is back. The 1999 GT class winner and polesitter will return to Road Atlanta and the 1,000-mile/10-hour endurance classic as part of the lineup for Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing, which just happens to have won the last two years in GT2. Needless to say, Muller is full of past Petit memories and is eager to create new ones.
Looking back: "It's now six years ago since I was there last time. Now I'm thrilled to just think about Petit. For me it's such a big event. It's like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, like Sebring and in Germany it's like the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, which I have won. I'm really looking forward to it, and it's an event you want to win."
Looking forward: "The expectations must be high from everyone. I always remembered that the crowds were very good there. Obviously the racing was very good there because I remember having close battles even in a 1,000-mile race. It should be a good event."
