Iteris Names New General Manager of Transportation Systems Division
SANTA ANA, Calif.--Iteris, Inc. (AMEX:ITI), a leader in the development and application of advanced technologies that help reduce traffic congestion and improve the safety of surface transportation systems, today announced that Alan Clelland has been named Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Transportation Systems division starting Oct. 1, 2007.
“Alan is a recognized industry executive with extensive experience in traffic management and control,” said Abbas Mohaddes, president and chief executive officer of Iteris. “His technical expertise in the application of transportation technology is only matched by his strategic thinking and management skills.”
Clelland joins Iteris with over 30 years of experience in transportation engineering and traffic control and management. In his new role, Clelland will focus on the strategic growth of the Transportation Systems division and business development as well as managing a staff of 120 associates nationwide.
Along with an extensive background in consulting, Clelland worked in local government traffic engineering departments, has performed university research projects and held several senior management roles in traffic management and manufacturing.
Prior to joining Iteris, Clelland led the U.S. consulting group at Siemens ITS, where he was responsible for key growth initiatives, the application of traffic management systems and software development. Before Siemens ITS, Clelland was a partner in Gardner Systems, where he developed the firm’s project and professional services activities to complement the product software development.
Over the course of his career, Clelland has managed several high profile and innovative contracts including the Anaheim, Pasadena, and Santa Ana ATMS projects and the pioneering Santa Monica Freeway Smart Corridor Project. Before coming to the U.S., Clelland held management positions at Transportations Systems companies in the UK, Portugal and The Netherlands.

Clelland holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics and Electronic Engineering from the University of Leeds, UK.
