ALMS (ROAD ATLANTA) - VOICES OF PETIT: DARREN LAW
Darren Law is one of 13 drivers entered in this year's Petit Le Mans that drove in the inaugural event in 1998.
Thirteen drivers who are entered for the 10th running of Petit Le Mans also were in the field for the 1998 race at Road Atlanta. Flying Lizard Motorsports' Darren Law was one of those. One of the most recognizable American drivers in the American Le Mans Series paddock, Law will compete for at Petit Le Mans for the seventh time with a best class finish of second in the inaugural 1998 race. He will team with Seth Neiman and Lonnie Pechnik as he did in 2006.
Where it all started: "That event has turned into one of the biggest races on our calendar. I love going back there. I raced in the inaugural event when it started and it has grown so big. The track is great to drive, and so are the fans. It's a huge program and I love going back there."
What has changed and what hasn't: "The competition is just as tough. The biggest thing I've seen change over the years is the atmosphere of the event. It's so huge with the amount of people. It has just gotten bigger and bigger and become more enjoyable for everyone."
