Robert Bosch LLC to Showcase Advanced Gasoline Systems Technology
![]() |
WHAT: Worldwide demand for high-efficiency, low emissions automotive powertrain solutions has never been higher. Today, consumers are faced with rising fuel costs and a desire to reduce their impact on the environment. Robert Bosch LLC to showcase its commitment to developing cleaner, more fuel-efficient gasoline powertrain technologies that still offer optimal performance and meet drivers demands.
Ride-and-drive opportunities to test several key gasoline systems technology advancements that are on the road today, including:
-- Start/stop system on an Audi A4, which switches off the internal combustion engine when the vehicle is at a standstill to help reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by up to eight percent. -- DI-Motronic on the all-new 2008 Cadillac CTS, Bosch's gasoline direct injection (GDI) system, which is compatible with turbocharging and offers greater revving range as well as higher torque at a lower speed range. -- Continuously variable transmission (CVT) on a Nissan Altima, which can be used in everything from sub-compact cars to SUVs with diesel, gasoline or hybrid drive systems, allowing the vehicle to use less fuel and emit less carbon dioxide. Additionally, other future advanced gasoline powertrain technologies will be discussed.
