Country Joe Racing And Brian Scott Pair Up Again For Talladega ARCA Event

Country Joe Racing And Brian Scott Pair Up Again For Talladega ARCA Event

TALLADEGA, Alabama (September 19, 2007) - - Officials from Country Joe
Racing (CJR) announced today the signing of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS)
rookie Brian Scott to pilot the team’s No. 32 Country Joe Racing Dodge for
next month’s ARCA RE/MAX 250 from Talladega Superspeedway on Friday, October 5.

Scott returns to the CJR seat for the second time this season as Scott made
his inaugural ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) debut in the WLWT Channel 5-150 at
Kentucky Speedway in July.
Rewinding back to his debut, Scott practiced solidly inside the top-20,
qualified a respectable 19th and mastered through a competitive field to notch a
smooth 13th place finish under the lights.
Now switching gears from a speedway event to a “restrictor plate?? race,
Scott knows that he has a lot to learn as he makes his transition to a
superspeedway. However, the Boise, Idaho native also knows that he is in good hands
with Country Joe Racing.
“I’m excited to be returning with Country Joe Racing at Talladega,?? said
Scott, a Mooresville, North Carolina resident. “I had a blast driving the
Country Joe Racing Dodge at Kentucky and we’ve been working hard to put
something together that would allow me to return behind the wheel with this awesome
team and I’m thrilled that it’s happening for Talladega.??
Before Scott will join the rest of the ARCA competition for the 22nd event
of the season, the duo will participate in the open test at Talladega
Superspeedway on September 25.

“Racing at Talladega is a whole new ball game for me,?? mentioned Scott. “I’
ve always heard that restrictor plate racing is a mental game and that’s
what I am expecting not only in testing but for race week as well. It’s
important for me to go out there in the test and learn the characteristics of a track
of that magnitude.??
He continued, “Testing is crucial for us and we plan to succeed. I’m very
thankful for the testing opportunity. It will allow the chance for me to
reunite with crew chief Mike Chaffee and focus our concentration on giving the
team another win this season. Gathering a comfortable setup is also plenty
crucial during the test. We are lucky to have a fair amount of practice for race
week which will help, but if we can arrive with a baseline setup, we’ll be
ahead. Country Joe Racing has run very strong on the restrictor plate races in
the past and I know that we’ll have the same components to continue that
tradition next month.??
With Scott being one of 10 drivers to take the CJR helm this season, he
knows that the team has enjoyed monstrous success this season and the ARCA rookie
plans to utilize the final speedway race of the season to continue that
tradition.
“Talladega is an important race for me and I plan to focus all of my
attention to the team during the week. The team has acquired a great piece and our
motor will carry plenty of steam. This race will is night and day compared to
the Kentucky race. Talladega is a chess game. The draft comes into heavy
effect and you have to rely on your spotter to guide you through the packs. It’s
going to be exciting, there’s no doubt about it.??
Nate Thiesse, Director of Operations for Country Joe Racing offered, “On
behalf of everyone at Country Joe Racing, we want to welcome back Brian Scott.
He did a phenomenal job for us in his ARCA debut at Kentucky Speedway earlier
this summer. He showed a lot of patience and maturity, which didn’t make it a
hard decision to put him back in the seat for Talladega. We know that Brian
has the capabilities of running up front and be in contention for the win and
I know everyone on the team is looking to the race now that we have a
talented driver on board.??
In addition to the ARCA RE/MAX Series, Brian Scott also competes in the
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series behind the wheel of the No. 16 Ford F-150 for
Xpress Motorsports.
The ARCA RE/MAX 250 (94 laps/250 miles) is the 22nd of 23 races on the 2007
ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The 45th ARCA race held at Talladega
Superspeedway is a two-day show. Practice begins Thursday, October 4 with a two and a
half practice session planned from 9:00-11:30am. ARCA SIM Factory pole
qualifying is set for later in the day at 3:30pm Local Time. A “Happy Hour?? final
practice has been etched into the schedule for Friday October 5 for forty-five
minutes from 10:05am-10:50am Local Time. The event will take the green flag
on October 5 shortly after 4:00pm Local Time. The race will be televised live
on SPEED with additional race coverage online at _arcaracing.com_
