Maybach Family Foundation Opens L.A. Office With Sept. 25th Party to Raise Awareness and Funds for Global Mentoring

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18 -- The Maybach Family Foundation will host a party on Tuesday evening, September 25, to celebrate the opening of their Downtown Los Angeles office, located in the law offices of Holme, Roberts and Owen, LLP (contact@Maybach.org).

The invitation-only event will introduce key leaders to the work of the Foundation's Excellence in Mentoring Leadership program, which provides extraordinarily talented young adults from disadvantaged circumstances the opportunity to mentor with distinguished global leaders, in order to make a difference in their lives and in the world.

The festivities start at 6:30 pm at The Beverly Hills Hotel, 9641 Sunset Boulevard, with cocktails, dinner and a concert by pianist Ron Altbach, who is known for his moving piano, horn and percussion accompaniment with the Beach Boys.

The evening will be highlighted with a poignant video presentation of the Foundation's latest mentoring work to battle the AIDS crisis in Uganda.

Ulrich Schmid-Maybach, founder of the San Francisco-based Foundation commented, "The Maybach Family Foundation is thrilled to open our Los Angeles office, which will provide us tremendous opportunities to reach out to local leaders in the business, entertainment, arts and science fields, to become involved with our Excellence in Mentoring Leadership program."

"So many talented Angelenos at the top of their fields have expressed to us their desire to fulfill their corporate responsibility of giving back to society, and have asked how they can participate with us. Our presence in Los Angeles will enable us to harness all this great energy into much needed mentoring opportunities," he explained.

Throughout the past year, the Foundation has delivered its message on the essentiality of global mentoring, hosting events at the United Nations, Milken Institute Global Conference, and Cannes Film Festival with media giants such as Variety. At the Foundation's Cannes luncheon, music legend and guest-of-honor, uber-mentor Quincy Jones stressed the importance of the role of mentoring in improving society.

Schmid-Maybach's conceptualization of the Foundation's mandate was inspired by his great grandfather, Dr.Wilhelm Maybach, who was raised at an orphanage where he met Gottlieb Daimler. Daimler mentored Maybach to construct the first Mercedes, later being hailed as "the king of engineers". Wilhelm's son, Dr. Karl Maybach started Maybach Motorenbau Company, producing the most luxurious cars of the early 20th century. The Maybach Family Foundation builds on a legacy of engineering, invention and design that established the roots of the automotive industry.

Klaus Nesser, CEO of Maybach Brand, DaimlerChrysler remarked, "The Maybach Brand is proud to support the Maybach Family Foundation, as the primary partner in their efforts to provide creative solutions to the world's problems through a global mentoring program of aspiring young leaders. The Foundation's approach to social responsibility coincides with our commitment to support excellence and is therefore firmly grounded in the very core of our brand."

All funds raised at the event will go to support the Maybach Family Foundation's Excellence in Mentoring Leadership program.
