New JBL® Grand Touring® Series (GTO) Amps Pack Superior Performance Into a Compact Design
WOODBURY, N.Y.--JBL, Inc. overhauls its popular Grand Touring® Series (GTO) line of high-performance car-audio amplifiers by incorporating a sleeker, more compact heatsink and bulletproof performance. The new GTO line includes three Class D subwoofer amplifiers; one two-channel and two four-channel full-range amplifiers; and a five-channel amplifier designed to drive an entire system. Despite a smaller chassis (compared to those used in the previous line of GTO amplifiers), each model includes more metal in the heatsink than the model it replaces for improved thermal performance and reliability. Precisely engineered to deliver low distortion and optimum system-tuning control, the new JBL GTO amplifiers are purpose-built to deliver the power needed to drive high-performance audio systems at an exceptional value.
JBL engineers designed the latest models in the GTO amplifier line with system-building in mind. Every mono, two-channel and four-channel amp in the GTO line includes RCA outputs that eliminate the need for RCA-type Y-adapters, and each amplifier includes a carefully chosen complement of signal-processing features. Full-range amplifiers include bass-boost controls optimized for use with full-range speakers. Amplifiers designed to drive subwoofers include a remote bass-level control, and the JBL Dynamic Bass Optimization (DBO) circuit, which provides subsonic filtering and bass boost in one easy-to-adjust circuit. All amplifiers include continuously variable electronic crossovers. In addition, the GTO 1004 includes band-pass crossover capability for precise control of dedicated mid-bass drivers in even the most complex systems.
“The JBL Grand Touring Series was built to deliver the world-class engineering and performance associated with JBL audio products at an unbeatable value,” said Christopher M. Dragon, director of brand marketing, JBL Mobile Systems. “This line of amplifiers has products for every need – from Class D subwoofer amps that are more efficient than traditional Class AB amps to full-featured, full-range amps with variable electronic crossovers – and features an industrial design that has a distinct JBL look and feel.”
The GTO subwoofer amps include the following 360-, 700- and 1500-watt models:
-- GTO3501 -- (225 watts RMS x 1 channel at 4 ohms and less than or equal to 1% THD + N); |
