Peter Heuser Appointed Managing Director of Ricardo Deutschland

VAN BUREN TWP., Mich., Sept. 17 -- It was announced today that Dr. Peter Heuser will assume responsibility as the managing director of Ricardo Deutschland with immediate effect.

Since joining Ricardo in 2005, Dr. Peter Heuser has been the director of Ricardo's Global Heavy Duty Diesel product group. He has also carried responsibility for all engine engineering activities for Ricardo in Germany, a role through which he has had a significant and positive impact in growing the business in terms of both volume and customer base.

A mechanical engineer specializing in combustion engines, Heuser obtained both his first degree and doctorate from the University of Aachen. He subsequently joined FEV where he specialized in areas such as variable valvetrain technology and was ultimately promoted to the position of manager for Advanced Engine Components. In 1992 Heuser co-founded specialist engine technology consultancy, Meta Motoren-und Energie-Technik GmbH, where he was both partner and managing director. He takes over from Dave Pickett who has acted in an interim capacity as managing director of Ricardo Deutschland since the departure of Detlev Baudach in July this year, who left the company in order to pursue other business interests.

In his new role, Heuser will report directly to Ricardo plc CEO, Dave Shemmans. Commenting on this appointment, Dave Shemmans said: "I congratulate Dr. Heuser on his appointment as managing director of Ricardo Deutschland. In the two years since he joined Ricardo he has made an impressive contribution both in the development of our global heavy duty diesel business as well as our engine engineering activities in Germany. I believe he has the right technical and managerial skills and leadership qualities to take Ricardo Deutschland to the next level, and I look forward to working with him in this key market for Ricardo."
