DETROIT, Sept 16, 2007; Reuters reported that representatives for UAW negotiators, locked in a fourth day of marathon bargaining with General Motors Corp. on Sunday, told a union local leader that the bargaining team would not leave until a tentative contract was reached.
"We're not leaving until we get it," a UAW international representative said in an update on negotiations, which were in their ninth consecutive hour. "We are going to stay until it happens."
The UAW local official, who asked not to be named, provided access to the update on the private negotiations to Reuters. A further update was scheduled for around 11 p.m. ET, he said.
