The Stage is Set for a Champion to be Crowned



Indianapolis – The NHRA's North Central Division Summit Racing Series is
preparing to crown there division champions tomorrow at O'Reilly Raceway
Park in Indianapolis, Ind. It's safe to say that many competitors will sleep
lightly tonight as they anticipate the Finals tomorrow.

Friday's action featured the VP Racing Fuels Race of Champions, a race
within a race that pitted the top points-earning drivers from each track in
head-to-head competition. Winners for Friday's VP Racing Fuels Race of
Champions included, Chris Bear racing out of Summit Motorsports Park in the
Super Pro class. The Pro VP Racing Fuels Race of Champions winner was
Clayton Clark, driving for Beech Bend Raceway Park. In Sportsman Mike Glancy
Jr. from Edgewater Sports Park took the victory in his Gremlin. And in Super
Pro Bike Ryan Cueni rode his Suzuki down the track at 132.86 mph to take
home the hardware.

Drivers in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, and Super Pro Bike will compete for
the coveted title of division champion, a purse of $56,850 and the ability
to pursue a national championship during tomorrow's races. The invitation
includes a $3,500 payout for those that will make the trip to Auto Club
Raceway in Pomona, Calif. Each category winner will square off against the
NHRA Summit Finals champions from NHRA's other six divisions for a
winner-take-all $5,000 purse.
