Anderson starts eliminations from No. 3 position in Summit Racing Pontiac*

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (September 15 2007) -- The KB Racing LLC, Summit Racing
Pontiacs continue to run well at Memphis Motorsports Park (MMP).
Greg Anderson drove his KB Racing-owned, Summit Racing Equipment-backed
Pontiac to the No. 3 position on the final qualifying ladder for this
weekend's 20th annual NHRA O'Reilly Mid-South Nationals.

Anderson started out the first session of qualifying on Friday like the
Anderson of old, covering the MMP quarter-mile in his Summit Racing
Equipment Pontiac with an elapsed time of 6.697 seconds at a speed of
205.88 mph. His speed upped the mile-per-hour track record previously
held by his teammate, Jason Line (205.38 mph). Also, his E.T was just a
tad off the track record of 6.694 seconds, also held by Line.

It was still relatively warm when the Friday evening session got
underway -- the air temperature was 88-degrees and the track temperature
was recorded at 104-degrees. As the last pair of Pro Stock cars, the
temperatures had started down some -- the air temperature was now
86-degrees with the track temperature at 101-degrees. Anderson improved
a couple of thousandths to a 6.695-second elapsed time, good for the
third spot after the first day of qualifying.

Dave Connolly, in the other lane opposite Anderson, set a track record
elapsed time in the second session on Friday, a 6.673-second pass, to
take the provisional top spot for the first day.

This changed when Connolly's E.T. track record switched hands in
Saturday's first session, third overall, as Max Naylor took over the No.
1 spot with an elapsed time of 6.594 seconds.

In that same first session on Saturday, Anderson lowered his E.T to
6.598 seconds and once again upped the track speed record to 209.17
mph. As he headed to his final qualifying run, Anderson held the No. 3
spot.

With one of the better elapsed time in the final round, Anderson ended
the day by running a 6.607-second pass at 208.91 mph. He continued to
hold onto the No. 3 position and will face Ron Krisher, who qualified
No. 14 (6.646/207.43), when the first round of eliminations gets
underway tomorrow.

"Times got better today because the weather was on our side," said
Anderson. "Tomorrow should be more of the same, maybe a little hotter.
These Summit Pontiacs run well in this type of conditions. Now it's my
job to go out and try to win this race tomorrow."

When qualifying get underway tomorrow at Memphis Motorsports Park,
Anderson will be going after the 51st win of his career. In 2007,
through 18 races, he has seven wins in nine final rounds. At MMP, the
three-time NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Champion has won twice -- in 2003
(over Jeg Coughlin) and 2005 (over Kurt Johnson).
