Brett Hudson Excited About Salem Return

Brett Hudson Excited About Salem Return

SALEM, Indiana (September 13, 2007) - - Fresh off a impressive eighth place
finish last Saturday afternoon at Chicagoland Speedway, Kentucky’s Brett
Hudson is back and ready for more.
Returning to his normal grass roots of short track racing, Hudson will strap
in behind his No. 39 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and look to better his career
best fourth place Salem run netted this past April.
With two speedway events passing and conquering top-10 finishes at Kentucky
Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway respectively, Hudson hates to relinquish
his speedway success but welcomes the returning challenges of short track
racing.
“I’ve enjoyed Kentucky and Chicagoland a lot, but I can’t wait for Salem
Speedway this weekend,?? said Brett Hudson, driver of the No. 39 Hudson Machine
Chevrolet. “The spring race at Salem did a lot for my ARCA RE/MAX Series
career and I think we have the capabilities of doing it again Saturday night.??
With Saturday’s Eddie Gilstrap Motors ARCA Fall Classic by Advance Auto
Parts scheduled to be the last race of the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series season for
Hudson and his team, the avid late model competitor hopes they can exit on a
high note.
“We’ve had a great year,?? continued Hudson. “Three races and three top-10
finishes is nothing to complain about. We’ve been able to switch from
Chevrolet to Dodge and be competitive. There’s no doubt when we go back to Chevrolet
this week, we’ll pick up right where we left off.??
When asked the big question about scoring his first career victory Saturday
night, Hudson paused then answered.
“I think I would be speechless,?? he replied. “You have no idea what a win
would mean to this team. We’re coming locked and loaded this weekend with our
eyes on taking the win. I think we have a good shot at it. We just have to
survive the Salem attrition and be there in the end like we did in April.??
For the second straight week, the team will carry a different number since
sporting their familiar No. 43 at Kentucky in July. Teaming up with Roulo
Brothers Racing, BHM will carry that team’s recognizable No. 39.
“We’re happy to help out Gary and the Roulo Brothers race team this weekend
at Salem. They will be on-hand, if we need any assistance and we look
forward to helping them move up the owner standings.??
Habitat for Humanity, Double H Hydraulics and Hudson Machine will all
sponsor Hudson’s automobile in Saturday night’s dog fight.
“We have a great group of sponsors this weekend,?? sounded Hudson. “Habitat
for Humanity returns with us since Kentucky and picking up the new
association with Double H Hydraulics and the long-standing support from Hudson Machine
allows us to go out and do what we love and I appreciate that. Hopefully we
can garnish our second top-five of the season Saturday.??
In addition to trying to secure more funding, the team is also stretching
forward and looking ahead to the 2008 season.
“We’ve been working hard on our sponsorship program. We have a lot to
offer, I mean a lot. This team has shown that we can run competitively on a
speedway and a short track. I feel the strides we made on the track will help us
off with our sponsorship search. Our goal is to run more frequently next
season, so hopefully we can give a good sponsor a good home.??
The Eddie Gilstrap Motors ARCA Fall Classic by Advance Auto Parts (200
laps/110 miles) is the 21st of 23 races on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule.
The 79th ARCA race held at Salem Speedway is a one-day show. Practice begins
Saturday, September 15 with an hour and a half practice session planned from

    * Brett Hudson has made three ARCA RE/MAX Series start this season at
Salem Speedway this past April. After starting eighth, Hudson used his

career best. Earlier this summer, Hudson made his speedway debut at Kentucky
Speedway. Blasting from his 22nd starting spot, Hudson maneuvered to net a ninth
place run, his second top-10 in 2007. Last weekend, Hudson qualified a
speedway best third before turning in a impressive eighth place finish.
    * Brett Hudson will attempt to make his 14th career ARCA RE/MAX Series
start Saturday night. In his previous 13 races, Hudson has produced one
top-five and six top-10 finishes.
    * Brett Hudson Motorsports will hang up the Dodge emblem this weekend
and roll out the Chevrolet bowtie for the second ARCA event at Salem Speedway
this season. It is the same automobile the team competed with at the
half-mile facility earlier this year.
    * Saturday’s race marks the final planned 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series race
of the season for Brett Hudson Motorsports. The team plans to announce their
plans for 2008 in the near future.
