VENUE: Miller Motorsports Park this Saturday, September 15th (11:00 a.m. MT) on the 4.5 mile road course in Toole, Utah for a 7.5 hour / 1000k endurance race. Round 14 of 14 in the Rolex Grand American Sports Car Series season.

EXHAUST NOTES: Saturday morning’s green flag will mark Scott Pruett’s 54th consecutive Rolex race start in four years…Pruett appeared as a featured guest on the Speed Channel’s “Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain” on Sunday to jumpstart Grand-Am’s media campaign for the Miller finale…The 1000k event has been publicized as “the closest motorsports championship in the world” with only three points separating Alex Gurney, Jon Fogarty, Pruett, and Max Angelelli…The No.01 TELMEX team arrives at Utah with two victories and eight podium finishes in 13 races.

DURAN DRIVES AGAIN: After nearly eights months since he helped maneuver the CGRFS No.01 TELMEX Lexus-Riley to its back-to-back Rolex 24 At Daytona victory in January, Salvador Duran will join forces with Pruett and Rojas to lend a helping hand to clinch the Driver and Team Championships in Utah. Duran will fly across the Atlantic and reunite with the CGRFS team after competing at Donington Park in Derby, England for a World Series by Renault race for Team Mexico last weekend.

PRUETT’S POISE: “Its exciting going into the last race, we're in great position. We're going to treat it as a seven hour, seven and a half hour sprint race. The car has been very, very solid and as we saw at the Rolex 24, never missed a beat. We're bringing on Salvador Duran, he did just a great job this year where we won with myself and Juan Pablo Montoya and him. And we got a little bit of an update from Grand Am, which I think it's going to put us in a better competitive position with Pontiac. And we also have a team car that's out there that's run very strong as well. So across the board, if you look at it, I think we're in great shape. We're just going to go out and run hard and try and win the thing outright.”

DANE CAMERON REPLACES FINLAY IN NO.19: Star Mazda Series current points leader, Dane Cameron, will co-pilot the No.19 CGRFS entry with Michael Valiante. Cameron is a familiar face to Valiante; since the two have been involved in Valiante’s family karting business, Italian Motors, throughout Cameron’s karting development. The 18-year old will substitute for Rob Finlay, who is still experiencing difficulties from an ongoing shoulder injury. Cameron anticipates a successful return to Miller after he competed on the track in May with a fourth place finish with the Star Mazda Series. Additionally, he was on the lineup to partner with Finlay and Valiante in last year’s Rolex finale, but their day ended early from a mechanical failure.

Dane Cameron: ”You know, last year with Rob and Michael, although I didn’t get to drive in the car in the race from the engine failure, I was able to get a lot of valuable track time in practice. I feel like I know what to expect at this track – this race will certainly come down to your physical preparation to get through long, hot stints in the car. I’ve made sure to get out in my shifter kart in the hotter weather whenever I get the chance to be fully conditioned for a seven and a half hour race. This is really exciting for me to be able to develop my career and work with a state-of-the-art team like Ganassi. Not only am I looking forward to learning a lot from the team, but I’m also looking forward to a great finish.”

MILLER IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR: Last year, Scott Pruett piloted the CGRFS No.01 CompUSA Lexus-Riley to a pole qualifying position and then a fourth place finish after nine grueling hours of endurance racing at Miller Motorsports Park. He secured the Rolex Sports Car Series Team Championship for the second time in three years. Lexus also secured their first-ever Manufacturer Championship over Pontiac (521-514); additionally, Riley earned the Constructor Championship over Crawford.

After the race, Pruett pinpointed the specific challenges the team faced throughout the day: “I really wish we could have hung around a little bit longer to contend for the win, but we fought a really bad push all race long. We tried changing wickers, air pressure, you name it – but we couldn’t get the car to turn all day. We thought the night session would help get the problem sorted out, but it wasn’t to be. I’m proud of the CompUSA guys, and proud we were able to deliver Lexus its first title.”
