Rookie Adam Andretti Qualifies on Row Seven for His Inaugural IPS Race
JOLIET, IL (September 8, 2007 -- Rookie Adam Andretti will start in the 13th
position for
tomorrow’s 67-lap, 100-mile Indy Pro Series Chicago 100 at the Chicagoland
Speedway. Andretti clocked a 29.197 on the second of two qualifying laps at a
speed of 187.412 miles per hour. Only 0.4178 seconds stand between Andretti
and pole winner Alex Lloyd. Sunday’s Chicago 100 race time is 12:30 p.m. EDT.
“Adam did a great job all day,?? said team co-owner Peter Parrott. He’s been
very consistent, has run well in traffic, and while we would have liked to
qualify higher, in reality, we’re only about four-tenths behind the leader. I’
m confident we can have a good race.??
The team ran a total of 71 laps in the two practice sessions prior to
qualifying. “The whole day went really well,?? said Andretti after his qualifying
run. “The morning session was really strong. The car was really fast throughout
the long run and that’s what you really need. We did 51 laps and our fastest
lap was 51. We’re the only car that’s doing that. That’s what you need to
be a competitor in the race.??

sponsor); Rev It Up Racing; New California Properties; Iron Will Creations;

ADAM ANDRETTI QUOTES:
Qualifying does not show the car that we have prepared for the race. We
qualified just about where we predicted. We actually picked up a little bit more
than what we thought we’d run. So we’re happy about that. Obviously, if you’
re a driver, a race team, a competitor, you want to be on the pole, but we
have a car that’s more competitive in the race and that’s what matters the
most.
At this point, I thank all my sponsors and supporters and SpeedWorks for
everything everyone has done to put this effort together for me, and giving me the
best chance that I can have on Sunday. And that’s what matters. Saturday
is just laying the groundwork to get to Sunday. We’re definitely excited for
Sunday.
