            Gilliam, La. – In the first rounds of qualifying at Red River
Raceway for this weekends NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Top Alcohol
Dragster driver Spencer Massey and Top Alcohol Funny Car pilot Jimmy
Jonestook the No. 1 qualifying positions in their respective classes.

Massey, of Fort Worth, Texas, is looking to repeat his victory at Red
Riverlast year. He started it out the right way by outrunning the
field with a
pass of 5.487 seconds at 264.60 mph.  And Jimmy Jones a Cleburne,
Texasresident made a
5.814 second run at 250.18 mph run to take the pole.

Top qualifiers in other classes in included Patrick Courts of New Iberia,
La. in Stock Eliminator as well as Michael Kile from Westlake, La. competing
in Top Dragster.* *Rodger Brogdon who calls Tomball, Texas home took his '02
Cavelier to the top of Competition Eliminator. Tony Cowell also from
Texasposted a time of
10.623 seconds to take the pole in Super Stock.

In Top Sportsman Ronnie Davis of Suwanee, Ga. set the benchmark with Lake
Charles, La resident Keith Raftery's '07 GTO taking the No. 2 spot.* *Rich
Gentili of Humble, Texas shot off the line with a reaction time of .001
seconds to take top honors in Sportsman Motorcycle.

            Racing continues Saturday at Red River Raceway at 9 a.m.  Gates
open at 8 a.m.  Tickets are $20 for adults; children 6-12 are $5 and kids 5
