MIDGETS BACK TO WISCONSIN SATURDAY FOR PLYMOUTH;
"SUE THIEL MEMORIAL" GOES TO COONS
Jerry Coons Jr. leads the USAC National Midget Car Series back to Wisconsin for the third consecutive week as the series joins BMARA for another co-sanctioned event at The Plymouth Dirt Track. The "Stan Fox Memorial" is Saturday night and Coons is eyeing a third victory in four recent Badger State races, having won races already at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie and last Saturday's feature at the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam.
Coons, extended his lead to 111 points over Darren Hagen in the new standings, leading the last 13 laps of the Beaver Dam feature in his Speedway Motors/K & N Filters Spike/Stanton Mopar. Brad Kuhn led the first 17 laps and eventually finished second ahead of Hagen, Levi Jones and Brady Bacon.
The race at Plymouth will mark USAC's initial appearance at the 1/4-mile dirt oval and a 30-lap feature is on tap.
