NHRA (INDY) - STRONG PERFORMANCE OFFERS LUCAS INSIGHT TO MONDAY'S MAC TOOLS U.S. NATIONALS

As much as constant improvement is necessary in the sport of NHRA Drag Racing, for Top Fuel driver Morgan Lucas, his Lucas Oil Top Fuel team led by Richard Hogan stepped up their program on Saturday. His impressive run produced an elapsed time of 4.537 seconds at a speed of 325.45 mph but he remains in the No. 8 position after the completion of three of five qualifying round at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals. “We’re working as a team and we had to show off for our Colts friends today, grinned Lucas. My direction in life is going pretty well at the moment and I wouldn’t want anything to compromise that right now. Our car is climbing in performance and that gives me a good outlook on things. As far as our execution viewpoint, I’m so looking forward to race day.” Lucas will be making those last qualifying runs on Sunday in preparation for Labor Days Mac Tools U.S. Nationals beginning at 12:30 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. ESPN2-HD will air Sunday’s NHRA Race Day presented by Lucas Oil at 11 a.m. with qualifying highlights beginning at 2 p.m.
