Mosport Races Air This Weekend on SPEED, Original Times Reversed
TOPEKA, Kan. (Aug. 29, 2007) - All the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World
Challenge thrills and spills from north of the border air this weekend
on SPEED.
The SCCA SPEED GT race kicks things off at 1:00 p.m. (EDT) and the field
has to make the tough call to go with either wet or dry tires on a damp,
but drying course. Lawson Aschenbach starts the race from his first
career-pole alongside Randy Pobst, but when the lights go out, the front
row remains stationary. See who makes it through scathed and unscathed,
and if a dry tire choice pays off for any World Challenge competitor
willing to roll the dice. If you miss it the first time, catch the
replays on Wednesday, September 5 at 1:00 p.m. and Friday, September 7
at 3:00 a.m.
Following the SCCA SPEED GT race at 2:00 p.m. (EDT), tune in for the
SCCA SPEED Touring Car race from Mosport. STaSIS Audis take up the first
three spots on the grid. Another first time polesitter, Adam Pecorari,
will find teammate Chip Herr to be his biggest competition and likewise
for the RealTime Acuras of Pierre Kleinubing and Canadian Kuno Wittmer.
The more important question however, is where did Charles Espenlaub get
that beer? Watch it all again Friday, September 7 at 4:00 a.m.
The two races were originally scheduled to air in the reverse order, but
a recent schedule change now places the SCCA SPEED GT race before the
Touring Car race on the programming schedule. The SPEEDtv.com website
will be updated shortly to reflect the change.
Round Nine of the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Championships
will be a part of the Petit Le Mans weekend at Road Atlanta, October 3 -
4. Until then, visit www.world-challenge.com
