Subaru Makes a Splash at Upcoming Paddling Events

-- September is the month for some of the largest paddling events including the West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium, The 2nd Annual Whitewater Festival, and Gauley Fest --

CHERRY HILL, N.J., Aug. 28 -- Subaru is the official vehicle and sponsor of three paddling events during the month of September including the West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium in Washington, the 2nd Annual Whitewater Festival in North Carolina, and the Gauley Fest in West Virginia.

Subaru will be activating the sponsorships by getting dealers and customers into the action. Subaru will provide a number of prize drawings and giveaways at the three events. Subaru owners can present their Subaru key to claim giveaways and consumers can get a form to go to their nearest Subaru dealer to receive a free Dagger branded splash jacket by Immersion Research upon test driving a Subaru.

  -- The West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium
     Fort Worden State Park Conference Center in Port Townsend,
     Wash.
     September 14-16
     This event is a weekend-long festival and symposium with activities and
     events for paddlers of all ages and paddling abilities.  Both on-land
     and on-water workshops are offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday to
     provide information on paddling strokes, boat packing, practice rescue
     techniques and many other helpful tips. The industry-leading
     manufacturers, retailers and outfitters will also have display booths
     set up for attendees to check out the latest gear. There is over 1400
     ft. of waterfront packed with kayaks and accessories, an extensive
     retail area where attendees can pick up new equipment, along with
     events for the whole family all day and into the evening. For more

  -- The 2nd Annual Whitewater Festival
     U.S. National Whitewater Center, Tuckaseegee Ford Park in Charlotte,
     N.C.
     September 15
     This second annual event is a full day of activities and clinics
     including a kids' zone, kayak races, food and live music.  Attendees
     can check out the state-of-the-art facility, which features the world's
     largest man-made whitewater river and 11 miles of the best mountain
     biking, hiking, and running trails in the region. Visitors can also
     reach great heights at the climbing center, one of the largest outdoor

  -- Gauley Fest
     Nicholas County Veterans Memorial Park in Summersville, W. Va.
     September 21-23
     The Gauley Fest is the largest river festival in the world, posting
     attendance numbers of more than 6,000 people. The event focuses on
     bringing people to the area to enjoy a weekend of outdoor activities
     while showcasing whitewater paddlesports and raising funds and
     membership for American Whitewater. The festival is a three-day event,
     with the main activities taking place on Saturday evening. The festival
     site will be bustling throughout the weekend with food, vendors, and
     activities for paddlesport and non-paddlesport enthusiasts of all ages.
