Great start for GP Racing Karts
Stefano Romano takes first win for new chassis at Mosport
BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO Innisfil Indy Karting debuted their new chassis line,
GP Racing Karts at the ASN Canada FIA National Karting Championships in
Hamilton, Ontario earlier this month. Team drivers Stefano Romano and Frank
Launi were both happy with their new rides the first time out. Romano went
from 34th to 13th in the Rotax Max Senior final, while Frank Launi finished
second in the National Championship final.
Last weekend the pair backed up their speed with Romano taking the win in
the fifth round of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship Rotax Max
Senior class. "It is great to get the first win for GP Racing Karts,"
Romano said after the win. "The chassis are awesome; I can't wait for the
finale at Goodwood."
Launi also had great speed at Mosport. He was leading the Rotax Max Senior
prefinal when his engine expired and he coasted across the line in fourth.
In the final, Launi was set to give GP Racing Karts their first one-two
finish, but contact on the last lap, sent Launi back to sixth place.
"It's disappointing," Launi said. "We were set for a one-two finish, but it
didn't work out that way. Still, we showed our speed and at Goodwood for
the season finale, we should be able to collect another win for GP Racing
Karts.
