The Chrysler Foundation Donates $10,000 to Macomb County Sheriff's Office to Help Fight Computer Crimes

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 27, 2007 -- The Chrysler Foundation donated $10,000 to the Macomb Computer Crimes Enforcement (MACE) team today. The funds will support the MACE fight against computer fraud, identity theft and child pornography cases.

"We are pleased to assist the Macomb County Sheriff's Office in its mission to drive out computer crimes in our communities," said Brian Glowiak, Vice President of The Chrysler Foundation. "The New Chrysler works with law enforcement officials in several communities on a wide range of public safety issues, and we're proud to highlight the efforts of all levels of law enforcement to raise awareness of computer crimes."

MACE was created in 2001. In addition to the team of deputies assigned to MACE, a reserve unit of volunteer citizens was formed to help with the high number of cases. The special unit has arrested over 130 suspects.

"We want to thank Chrysler for their continued support of law enforcement," said Mark A. Hackel, Macomb County Sheriff. "This will help keep our community safe."
