Polaris Inducts Five Valued Contributors to Company History into the Polaris Hall of Fame
MEDINA, Minn.--Polaris Industries Inc. honored two retired long-time employees, two Polaris dealerships and a supplier of thousands of components by inducting the five into the Polaris Hall of Fame on Tuesday, July 24, in Nashville, Tennessee. The induction ceremonies took place during the annual Polaris National Sales Meeting.
The Polaris Hall of Fame was founded in 2004 as the company celebrated its 50th anniversary. Eleven contributors to the growth and success of Polaris were inducted that year, five honorees were inducted in 2005 and six were inducted in 2006.
“The Polaris Hall of Fame gives us the opportunity to honor individuals, dealers and business partners who have made significant contributions to the company’s long and successful history,” said Polaris CEO Tom Tiller. “It’s our pleasure to recognize them for all they have done on behalf of Polaris.”
The 2007 inductees into the Polaris Hall of Fame are:
- Chuck Baxter, who spent 30 years in the Engineering Department, rising from Project Engineer to Vice President of Engineering and Product Safety before retiring in 2000. He oversaw engineering as the company successfully added several new product lines, including ATVs, utility vehicles and motorcycles. He empowered and inspired Polaris engineers and they responded by developing industry-leading innovation and performance for Polaris products.
- Mary Zins served as Polaris Human Resources Manager for nearly 25 years before her retirement in 2004. She managed recruiting and staffing and developed benefit plans that provided employees with the security of medical coverage and investments for the future. Mary oversaw the creation of the Polaris Foundation and served as its President, and was also Polaris Manager of Community Relations.
- Trumbauer Motor Sports in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, is owned and operated by avid powersports enthusiasts John and Sue Trumbauer. They became Polaris snowmobile dealers in 1975 and now sell and service all Polaris and Victory products. The Trumbauers are highly regarded for their excellent customer service and their strong, long-time support of riding groups and trail programs in Pennsylvania.
- Action Motor Sports in Idaho Falls, Idaho, has provided Polaris riders in Eastern Idaho with products, service and high-performance upgrades since 1989. Owners Kris Wright and Jo McKnight have assembled a staff of snowmobile, ATV, utility vehicle and motorcycle enthusiasts who share their customers’ passion for riding. The employees are known for riding every chance they get, on the trail, in the mountains or on the open road.
- Integrated Logistics Solutions (ILS) has provided Polaris with a vast array of fasteners and Class C production items since 1985. The company provides about 2,000 items used to manufacture Polaris and Victory vehicles, and has developed innovative inventory and billing systems to monitor the use of these myriad products. Cleveland, Ohio-based ILS has personnel stationed in Polaris engineering and manufacturing facilities full-time to provide expertise and support.
