Behr America Completes Headquarters in Metro Detroit

TROY, Mich., Aug. 27, 2007 -- Behr America, a leading global supplier of automotive engine-cooling and air-conditioning systems, has completed a new $8.5-million, three-story office building on its North American corporate campus in Troy, Michigan.

The second major expansion at Behr's Troy location in three years, the 69,000-square-foot building was constructed on a 2.3-acre site that is part of Behr America's headquarters campus. The building will house nearly 270 Behr employees who currently occupy two leased buildings.

"Behr's commitment to investing and expanding in Michigan is creating jobs for our workers and helping diversify our economy," said Michigan Governor Jennifer M. Granholm. "Behr is a great example of the types of high-tech companies we are bringing to communities like Troy across the state."

The new facility will include offices, a customer interaction meeting and exhibit area, and additional testing lab space. It more than doubles the overall size of the five-year-old North American headquarters and technical center.

"The completion of this Troy campus expansion underlines our commitment to Michigan and to our North American-based customers," says Frank Mueller, president and CEO of Behr America.

Behr selected the Landry-Newman architectural firm of Birmingham, Mich., to design the new facility. Landry-Newman also designed Behr's Troy head quarters and technical center, which showcase a high-tech environment in a natural setting. In 2003, Behr received a "Best of Troy" award from the Troy Chamber of Commerce to recognize building projects that best exemplify financial investment and aesthetic enhancement in the City of Troy.

Behr America has nearly 3,000 employees at facilities in Troy; Dayton, Ohio; Charleston, S.C.; Fort Worth, Texas, and Ramos Arizpe, Mexico.

Behr GmbH & Co. KG, Stuttgart, Germany, is a systems partner for the international automobile industry.
