James Buescher Looks To Continue Stout Runs In Milwaukee
WEST ALLIS, Wisconsin (Thursday, August 23, 2007) - - ARCA RE/MAX Series
(ARS) rookie James Buescher has competed in four events this season and in each
of those four races, Buescher has impressed. Not to mention that his ARCA
debut was greeted with a thrilling and stunning victory at USA International
Speedway In March.
Five months have passed since the night that Buescher etched his name into
the
ARCA record books by becoming the youngster winner in series history. And as
the ARCA RE/MAX Series heads to The Milwaukee Mile this weekend, Buescher
would like to grab some attention by putting his Country Joe Racing team in
contention for the biggest race weekend of the track’s 2007 schedule.
“I’m feeling pretty good right now,?? said Buescher, who enters Milwaukee
feeling refreshed following a strong seventh place finish in the dirt at
Illinois State Fairgrounds last Sunday. “I truly enjoy competing for Country Joe
Racing, I’m hoping the cards will play our way and we can be in position to
score the win on Sunday.??
Last year at The Milwaukee Mile, Blake Bjorklund scored the ARCA SIM Factory
pole award but finished 18th. This year, Buescher knows he has the equipment
to finish what the team started.
“Country Joe Racing has some of the best equipment on the circuit,??
Buescher stated. “I have yet to win an ARCA SIM Factory pole award and this race is
relatively close for them. I think practice is crucial for us. The more time
on the track, the better we can position ourselves for the rest of the
weekend.??
Sunday’s race will also surprisingly mark the second consecutive week that
Buescher will pilot the No. 32 Dodge Charger.
“Momentum is everything in racing,?? sounded Buescher. “Milwaukee will be my
fifth race in ARCA this year. We’ve run very strong each and every race. The
team has some momentum carrying over from Springfield (Illinois State
Fairgrounds), which I think for a driver gives the extra incentive to go out the
next week and try a little harder.??
“It’s very easy working for a team like Country Joe Racing. Crew Chief Mike
Chaffee is very talented. I can tell him what’s wrong with the car, he can
make an adjustment and the car literally comes to life. That’s important for a
driver. It’s one of the reasons we’ve been able to deliver the finishes we
have. Again, I have a good feeling about Sunday’s race.??
Nate Thiesse, Director of Operations for County Joe Racing offered, “James
has done an absolutely tremendous job for Country Joe Racing and we’re looking
forward to the same type of effort and performance this weekend at The
Milwaukee Mile. James has been able to prove it doesn’t matter what type of track
we throw him on, he can be competitive. With that, we know we have a good
chance at another win on Sunday.??
Mercedes Homes and Red Line Oil will sponsor the No. 32 Dodge this weekend
at The Milwaukee Mile.
The Governor’s Cup 200 (200 laps/200 miles) is the 17th of 23 races on the
2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The 10th ARCA race held at The Milwaukee
Mile is a two day show. Practice begins Saturday August 25 with an hour and 15
minute session planned from 1:00pm-2:15pm. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying
is set for later in the day at 5:15pm Local Time. The event will take the
green flag Sunday August 26 shortly after 12:00pm Local Time. The race will be
televised live on SPEED with additional race coverage online at

Notes of Interest:
* James Buescher will make his fifth career ARCA start Sunday. In his
previous four efforts, Buescher scored the win in the inaugural ARCA RE/MAX
Series event at USA International Speedway (Lakeland) while posting a clean
sixth place run at Salem Speedway in April before returning to the top-five at
Berlin Raceway with a stout third place effort in July. Last weekend Buescher
made his dirt track debut showing further talent by reeling in a seventh
place finish.
* Last year Country Joe Racing finished 18th after starting on the
ARCA SIM Factory pole with driver Blake Bjorklund aboard. In 2005, the
organization finished second after delivering a third place qualifying effort with
ARCA RE/MAX Series Rookie-of-the-Year driver Joey Miller.
* James Buescher will make 800 left hand turns on Sunday.
· Country Joe Racing sits eighth in the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series car
owner standings entering Springfield. The organization, who has fielded a
car for a number of drivers this season, is 15 markers from seventh place
controlled by car owner Grace Sheltra (No. 60). 95 points separate CJR from sixth
in the car owner standings currently held by Clarence Brewer. The team
maintained their spot from last week, but gained valuable points on their
competition ahead following James Buescher’s outstanding run last Sunday.
* James Buescher joins Michael Annett, Todd Hansen and Joey Miller as
the only repeat drivers for Country Joe Racing this season. Buescher will
make his fifth start for CJR this season. The team has fielded a car for Ryan
Howard (Daytona), James Buescher (USA International Speedway, Salem, Berlin,
Springfield and Milwaukee), Joey Miller (Nashville and Pocono - August), Todd
Hansen (Kansas and Kentucky), Dan Fredrickson (Winchester), Matt Merrell
(Toledo), Michael Annett (Iowa and Nashville - August), Johnny Sauter (Pocono -
June), Chris Wimmer (Michigan) and Brian Scott (Kentucky – July) this season.
