NASCAR (CHARLOTTE) - California Speedway And The NASCAR Foundation Team Up
California Speedway and The NASCAR Foundation have teamed up, along with eight NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series tracks, to launch an unprecedented online charity auction featuring a collection of VIP at-track experiences.
These one-of-a-kind packages are designed to bring fans up close and personal to all the excitement during a NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race weekend and offer a variety of items that help contribute to the ultimate fan experience including season tickets, suite seats, pre-race pace car rides, post-race credentials to Victory Lane, pit passes, concert passes, food coupons and much more. Participating tracks include California Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Daytona International Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, Kansas Speedway, Martinsville Speedway, Michigan International Speedway, Phoenix International Raceway and Richmond International Raceway.
“This auction not only benefits a wonderful cause like The NASCAR Foundation, but it’s a chance for race fans to get even closer to the action,” said California Speedway President Gillian Zucker. “There is no doubt that this type of access truly makes NASCAR the most fan-friendly of all the major sports.”
Fans will have the opportunity to bid on several 2007 and 2008 race packages including a Richmond International Raceway package for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 (7:00 p.m. E.T., ABC), that features the opportunity to attend Victory Lane, and an “Ultimate 50th Running of the Daytona 500” package that includes tickets, hospitality and Pre-Race/SPRINT FANZONE passes, VIP access for the past Daytona 500 induction ceremony at The Daytona 500 Experience motorsports attraction, VIP access for the Camping World 300 presented by Chevrolet driver introduction ceremonies and access into the Victory Lane for the 50th running of the Daytona 500 post-race celebration.
“We continue to be amazed by the support of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup tracks for The NASCAR Foundation and its Family of Charities,” said Sandy Marshall, executive director of The NASCAR Foundation. “This online auction is the first time so many of our tracks have come together to offer fans a chance of a lifetime experience all the while raising money for a great cause.”
The online auction will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 5:30 pm E.T. and will end Monday, Sept. 18 at 11:59 pm E.T. (excludes Richmond package which will end earlier). Fans can visit www.nascar.com/foundation for more information.
