Melanie Troxel, driver of the Vietnam Veterans POW/MIA Top Fuel dragster owned by Forrest Lucas, is now only two slim points away from the elite eight of the NHRA Countdown to the Championship after she advanced to the semi-finals of the 26th annual Lucas Oil Nationals on Sunday at Brainerd International Raceway. At the completion of the event, Troxel has now acquired 732 points and only trails David Grubnic, who has 734 with only one race remaining in the torrent chase of whom will occupy the No. 8 position.
