Lucas Oil NHRA Pro Stock driver, Larry Morgan leaves the Brainerd International Raceway satisfied with his semi-finals performance in Sunday’s Lucas Oil Nationals Morgan opened his day by handily winning his first round after Max Naylor red-lighted his chance away and Morgan ran a time of 6.681 seconds, 206.73 mph to advance to the quarterfinals In the second round of eliminations, Morgan fended off Jim Yates’ forward progress with his time of 6.695 seconds, 206.61 mph to his opponent’s pass of 6.716 seconds, 204.54 mph. With that win it gave Morgan more insight of knowing how to prepare his Lucas Oil Dodge to match the cooler than usual track conditions. It was in the semi-finals against three-time Pro Stock champion, Greg Anderson where Morgan lost a close battle against him crossing the finish line first by only a few feet.
