Former Ford COO Scheele Enters Bid for Jaguar, Land Rover

Washington DC August 10, 2007; The AIADA newsletter reported that former Ford Motor Chief Operating Officer(2001-2005)Nick Scheele has entered the bidding for Jaguar and Land Rover, reports Automotive News.
Scheele has joined forces with Ripplewood Holdings, one of half a dozen groups doing due diligence on Ford's premium brands, people close to the sale told the newspaper.
Jac Nasser, who served as Ford's CEO from 1999 to 2001, is leading a separate bid by One Equity, the buyout group.
Earlier this month, The New York Times reported that Ford is hoping to have a tentative deal to sell its Land Rover and Jaguar operations by September 30, and a pact to dispose of Volvo by the end of 2007.
