NASCAR Busch East Rookie, Whelen All-American Late Model Series, 600 Racing Legend Series & Pro-Winged Champ Kart Driver

Casey Wyatt: 20th to 4th in 20 Lap Feature

Langley Speedway, Hampton VA- Casey Wyatt returned to champ kart racing last weekend in his familiar red #45 Front Row Racing champ kart. The last time he raced this kart, it ended its race backed up to the turn 2 wall; after flipping as a result of side by side contact with another competitor.

Qualifying was disappointing, as Casey realized after completing his 2 laps, that he had done so without the required transponder which records his lap times. As a result, he started 20 behind FRR teammate Spencer Saunders. Casey and his FRR teammates hooked up and marched on to the front of the field. On lap 11, FRR picked up two more karts, that included Casey's brother Dannie. The frontrunners had a strong lead on the field and catching up to them would be tough without a caution.

The white flag waved before the much needed caution and Casey went into turn one in the eighth position. As the karts exited turn 2, Casey and FRR teammate Phelps, stepped out of line to the outside to attempt the pass on his brother Dannie and Hudgins. The four of them would come out of turn four, two deep-side by side. At the line it was a photo finish with Casey finishing 6th, a reported two-thousandths of a second ahead of his brother Dannie. After post race inspections, the first and second place finishers were disqualified, affording Casey a 4th place finish.

Casey would like to thank his team owner Bill Mullis and his Front Row Racing teammates for all of their help and support.

Casey Wyatt is a rookie in the NASCAR Busch East series for Wyatt Motorsports, whom competes as part of a three kart Pro-Winged Champ Kart team owned by Bill Mullis, a two car Whelen All-American Late Model team owned by Butch Britt and a two car Legend team owned by Dee Causey.
