LOS ANGELES, Aug. 7, 2007 -- Alan Mulally, president and chief executive officer for Ford Motor Company, will kick off the Los Angeles Auto Show by delivering the Motor Press Guild (MPG) keynote address on Nov. 14, 2007. The MPG breakfast and Mulally's address is open to all credentialed news media attending the show's press days. A Q&A session will be part of the presentation.

Prior to joining Ford in Sept. 2006, Mulally was executive vice president of The Boeing Company and president and chief executive officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. In that role, he was responsible for all the company's commercial airplane programs and related services.

"Throughout his career, Mulally has been recognized for his strategic contributions and leadership," said Matt Stone, MPG Keynote Address Committee Chairman. "By this fall, Mulally will have been at the helm of Ford for more than one year, so the timing is perfect to hear his thoughts on the state of the automotive industry and the direction of Ford Motor Company."

The 2007 LA Auto Show will be held in the fall for the second consecutive year. Dates are Nov. 14-15, 2007 for press and Nov. 16-25 for the public. Media registration opens Sept. 1. For the first time, the final weekend of the show will take place during the four-day Thanksgiving holiday. Last year, new fall timing prompted a record 36 world and North American vehicle debuts and record media attendance and news coverage from around the globe.

This will be the eighth year that the MPG breakfast has opened the LA Auto Show press days. MPG is comprised of approximately 800 automotive journalists and public relations professionals nationwide, making it the largest automotive press association in the country.
