GRAND AM (THE GLEN) - KINETIC MOTORSPORTS TO BUILD ON MOMENTUM...
After a successful weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Kinetic Motorsports is on the way to Watkins Glen International to compete on the 3.4 mile long road course at the next KONI Challenge event. Coming off a recent 4th place finish in Ohio, the team is looking to continue the positive momentum in New York with drivers Bryan Ortiz and Shawn price at the helm of the No. 79 Kinetic BMW.
With five remaining races on the KONI Challenge schedule, Kinetic Motorsports is looking to secure its first podium in the GS class of the series having entered Grand Am at the beginning of this season. Drivers have secured top qualifying positions for Kinetic this season but the podium thus far has been elusive. With top-five finishes like that of Mid-Ohio, the team is extremely excited about this event and hopes to achieve a top-three finish.
"I think the fact that we were able to get so close to the podium says a lot about the progress that we are making as a team," said Crew Chief James Pauly. "All of the guys have really come together and share the common goal of not only competing but also shooting for the win at every event. With the drivers and crew that Kinetic has, it's only a matter of time before we end up with a top-three."
Ortiz, who helped Kinetic secure the 4th place finish at Mid-Ohio is eager to get back behind the wheel of the No. 79 and feels confident about the upcoming event.
"Coming off a strong finish at Mid Ohio and having the team in the top five has us all excited about this race," said Ortiz. "Shawn is a good driver and I am glad to have the chance to hopefully pull out another good finish for Kinetic."
Price is the President and CEO of Savvion as well as a driver for Kinetc. He has enjoyed success in multiple series and events including the IMSA Cup Challenge, Grand Am and Baja. Like Ortiz, he is anticipating positive results at the Glen.
"I am delighted to be driving with Bryan Ortiz who is a great young competitor," commented Price. "If we are able to stay incident free I feel like we have a strong shot at performing extremely well. I look forward to racing at Watkins Glen and hopefully putting the Kinetic Motorsports/Savvion BMW on the podium this weekend."
