TEAM REPORTS (BURFORD) - KINETIC SPEED SHOP HOSTS BMW CCA EVENT WITH BORIS SAID
Kinetic Speed Shop hosted well over one hundred BMW CCA members this weekend at its 42,000-square-foot facility located in Buford, Ga. The event aimed to help Kinetic both introduce itself to the Peachtree region of the nationally certified club as well as serve as an awareness day for the Said Head Performance line of after market parts and accessories created by Kinetic Speed Shop and professional racer Boris Said.
Although the weather was a bit overcast with occasional rain showers, BMW CCA members from as far as Jacksonville Fla. made it our to Kinetic to enjoy an afternoon with fellow BMW enthusiasts and information about Kinetic’s BMW services courtesy of Kinetic co-owners Russell Smith and Nic Jonsson. Boris Said was also able to make the trip from California to speak to the large crowd entertaining them with his own professional racing experience, several behind the scenes stories as well as details of the Said Head line.
The crowd was able to mingle and tour the shop with each department of Kinetic on hand to answer questions. Representatives from products featured in the Said Head line including Kinetic Sunbelt Engines, Moton, Joe Gibbs Racing Oil, BBS and Shock Doctor were also available to educate attendees as well as provide a few items for some lucky raffle winners at the end of the day’s events. In addition, Kinetic proudly donated a piece of one of its KONI Challenge BMW M3s to the BMW CCA Foundation. To make it even more special, Jonsson and Said signed the piece prior to handing it over to Bruce Herstowski, president of the regional chapter.
“It was a real pleasure being here with so many fellow BMW enthusiasts, commented Said. “The fact that so many came out to Kinetic this weekend shows how strong the BMW following is here in Georgia and how dedicated BMW owners are. This was really our first chance to personally speak about our new Said Head Performance line and focus directly on those individuals that will benefit from it the most. We have a lot of cool BMW parts and accessories some of which can’t be found anywhere else that can be ordered online at www.saidheadperformance.com. We were also able to showcase our first custom BMW that we modified here at the shop. It looks great and I was pleased to see the reaction that it received. I really want to thank everyone for coming out this weekend and I hope we can do it again.”
For Kinetic, this was also an excellent opportunity to highlight its ability to focus on both BMW street and racing applications. Kinetic runs three BMW M3s in the KONI Challenge but its main focus is to take the knowledge that the program gains on track and transfer it into its BMW street car customer vehicles. Kinetic is able to perform everything from simple routine maintenance on BMWs to something as complicated as a high end performance upgrade or custom body kit. Club members were definitely impressed with the fact that Kinetic offers such a dynamic facility and is a place that they can feel comfortable bringing the cars that they have such a passion for.
In addition to street work, Kinetic also facilitates BMW club racing events providing clients with its own “Arrive and Drive” program which takes all of the hassle out of the equation for the drivers and allows them to focus purely on racing.
