Tim Sauter Looks for First Top-10 at ORP
Tim Sauter Looks for First Top-10 at ORP
Indiana-Based ASILIMITED to Adorn Hood of #07 for Hometown Race
Indianapolis, Ind. Monday July 23, 2007 - Tim Sauter and the Green
Light Racing team will have a slightly different look as they start
the second half of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season this week
at the O’Reilly Raceway Park. ASILIMITED, the Indianapolis-based
building enclosure company – one of the largest glazing contractors
in the United States will supplant Lester Buildings on the hood of
the #07 for Friday night’s Power Stroke Diesel 200.
As the event nears, the excitement is building (no pun intended) for
ASILIMITED and its corporate racing partners Akzo Nobel, Aluminum
Shapes, Spectrum Metal Finishing and Lester Buildings. This Friday
the companies will partner on and off the track, as ASILIMITED will
be hosting dozens of people that work together though ASILIMITED
projects. Friday night the group will root on the #07 Chevy Silverado
driven by Tim Sauter at the O’Reilly Raceway Park.
Ken Smith, President of both SS Racing and ASILIMITED formed an
agreement with Lester Buildings and Green Light Racing to partner on
the #07 in seven races this year. Since 2001 Smith has found
motorsports to be a valuable tool in building business
relationships. “Being a hometown race, we are able to show
appreciation to the people and companies we work with,?? said
Smith. “It’s a great opportunity for many of our clients to see
our facility and in addition attend a fun and exciting event.??
The Green Light team led by Doug Howe has prepared the same racetruck
that Sauter has his two best runs of the year at Milwaukee and
Memphis. Sauter knows the 5/8 mile track just outside of Indianapolis
could be his best opportunity so far this season for a top-10
finish. “I think the Green Light team will make a big rebound at
ORP, we have a great racetruck to take there and it’s one of my
favorite tracks,?? said Sauter. “There will be a lot of sponsors
with ASILIMITED; Aluminum Shapes, Akzo Nobel and Spectrum Metal
Finishing attending the race. I look forward to meeting everyone and
hopefully putting on a great show for them.??
• The Power Stroke Diesel 200 will be Tim’s 17th start in the NCTS
and 130th career NASCAR start.
• This will be the sixth time Tim has competed at ORP in a NASCAR
event.
• Tim’s first career NCTS start was at ORP on August 1, 2003, he
finished 23rd.
• Tim is currently 18th in NCTS driver points.
• Tim is leading the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings by five
points over Willie Allen.
• This will be the eighth season Green Light Racing has competed at
ORP in the NCTS. Best finish; 9th on August 2, 2002 with team co-
owner Bobby Dotter behind the wheel.
Tim’s thoughts on O’Reilly Raceway Park: “I love racing at ORP,
it’s back-home short track racing that most of us really enjoy. Our
short-track program has really improved since the beginning of the
year and I feel we should be able to get our Lester Buildings/
ASILIMITED Silverado into the top-ten at ORP.??
38 trucks are pre-entered for the Power Stroke Diesel 200. Qualifying
will broadcast live on SPEED Channel at 4:30PM EST. Race is
scheduled for 7:30PM EST also live on SPEED and will be broadcast
nationwide on MRN radio. Rick Crawford is the defending race winner.
