Mine Resistant Military Vehicle Displayed on Capitol Hill

         Advanced Design Protects Troops Against Roadside Bombs;
  Defense Secretary Calls Increased Acquisition Pentagon's Top Priority

  Why:   According to the U.S. Department of Defense, more Mine Resistant
         Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles are required to increase
         survivability and mobility of troops operating in hazardous areas
         against threats such as small arms fire, rocket propelled grenades
         and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Defense Secretary Robert
         Gates has called increased production of the vehicle a top Pentagon
         priority.

         On Friday, the U.S. Marine Corps awarded International Military and
         Government LLC a third contract to build an additional 755 Mine
         Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles. The company will now be
         supplying the military with 1,971 MRAPs, due by February 2008 and
         totaling over $1.045 billion.
