Asia8 to Distribute 3-Wheeled CNG Powered Vehicles in the UAE
TEMPE, Ariz.--Asia8, Inc., a U.S.-based company with strong ties to the United Arab Emirates, announced today that it has secured an exclusive distributorship to sell Trident Tricars, a line of 3-wheeled cars powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), in the UAE.
“We believe that the UAE market is ready for Trident CNG vehicles,” stated Asia8 CEO Eric Montandon. “Trident CNG cars are clean-burning, quiet, and economical to operate, as well as inexpensive, small, maneuverable, and designed for urban utility use. Tricars are ideal for delivery fleets, messenger services, or similar uses.”
Trident Tricars are produced in China and are branded exclusively for export as Trident O-Zone vehicles. These vehicles are powered by 250 to 1000 CC engines, with automatic transmissions, air conditioning, power windows, CD players and rear hatchback doors. Designed for use in China’s congested urban and suburban areas, the Trident has seen market success in China by filling a unique niche between the motorcycle and the traditional car.
CNG as a vehicle fuel is gaining rapid acceptance worldwide. Brazil, Argentina, and Pakistan all have CNG fleets comprised of over a million vehicles. Dozens of other countries are offering incentives for conversion to CNG, which is less expensive than gasoline and produces far fewer emissions. The trend towards CNG is expected to accelerate as oil prices increase and air pollution becomes a global concern.
“Abu Dhabi and Sharjah are now in the process of installing CNG filling stations as part of an effort to move government vehicle fleets to CNG, and Dubai is experimenting with CNG-powered public transport,” commented Montandon. “As governments introduce incentives and move their own fleets to CNG, private users will follow.”
Asia8 intends to sell the Trident vehicles within Dubai and selected Emirates within the UAE on a direct basis and to through sub-distributors in other parts of the country. Asia8 has also secured exclusive distributorships to sell the Trident vehicles in 19 other countries outside of the UAE, including Indonesia and Pakistan. Currently, Asia8 is seeking distribution partners around the world to accelerate growth.
