ArvinMeritor Wins New Supply Contract for the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAP)

TROY, Mich., July 18 -- ArvinMeritor, Inc. has been selected by Armor Holdings, Sealy, Texas, to supply 1,170 vehicle sets of front and rear drive axles with brakes, drivelines, antilock braking systems and transfer cases, for the new generation of armored personnel carriers for the U.S. military -- the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle (Category II).

ArvinMeritor will provide its new front drive steer axle, the RF 19-611 with hydraulic braking technology; the RT 40-611 rear drive tandem axle; and the T-218 integral transfer case.

The company has provided Armor Holdings with front drive steer axles, transfer cases and rear drive axles, in both a 4x4 and 6x6 configuration since 1991, in support of the U.S. Army's Family of Medium Tactical Vehicle (FMTV) program, with over 37,000 vehicles in the field to date with these proven drivetrain components.
