Wandahsega Rebounds to Win at Bark  River

On  Saturday at the start of the race Ben came through the first corner in 
the  3rd position passed Keith Steele over the hill jump for 2nd during  the 
opening lap, then began chasing down and gaining on leader Dave Waldvogel.  Going 
through the starting line turn Wandahsega got a little impatient and drove  
into the corner too hard.  The truck  biked up on two wheels, he saved it but 
when he came down he rolled the Forest  Co. Potawatomi/Toyo Tires Chevy 2 ½ 
times the other way.   Keith Steele won with Don Williams  in 2nd and Dan Baudoux 
rounding out the podium.  Wandahsega was able to  restart and was credited 
with 7th on Saturday. 
Sunday was much better for Ben and Team Wandahsega as they  rebounded for a 
win in front of their hometown crowd.  Saturday’s winner  Keith Steele and 
Wandahsega ran 1-2 in the opening laps with Ben applying steady  pressure on the 
leader.  Ben’s  spotter RJ Flannagan kept reminding him to be patient and just 
keep steady  pressure on the leader.  On lap  seven Ben was right on Steele’s 
rear bumper as Steele encountered mechanical  problems.  The duo had pulled 
away  from the rest of the field so from this point Ben just cruised to the 
victory  winning by 20 seconds.  Don Williams  and Dave Waldvogel rounded out the 
podium.   
Even with his 7th place finish on Saturday, Ben increased his point  lead 
from 8 to now 11 points with the win on Sunday.   Besides the  misfortune on 
Saturday Ben has been Mr. Consistant in the WSORR Super Trucks  class this year 
with 3 wins and 2 seconds in his other  finishes. 
Rounds  VII & VIII of the World Series of Off-Road Racing on August  11th & 
12th  will once again return to Ben’s hometown of Bark River,  MI.
