New Study on Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs): EPRI-NRDC Report Assesses Impact on Greenhouse Gas and Conventional Air Pollution

WASHINGTON, July 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following advisory was issued today by the Electric Power Research Institute:

  WHAT:   Release of an environmental assessment of Plug-In Hybrid Electric
          Vehicles (PHEVs) by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)
          and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).

          The report examines the impacts of widespread use of PHEVs in the
          United States on greenhouse gas emissions and air quality. The
          PHEVs would use electricity from the grid as their primary fuel
          source.
