Silas Looking For Smooth & Solid NCTS Run In Kentucky

Silas Looking For Smooth & Solid NCTS Run In Kentucky

“Florida Native Tacking Double Duty In Bluegrass State??

SPARTA, Kentucky (July 13, 2007) - - Bryan Silas will take advantage of a
double header weekend to make his third NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS)
start in Saturday’s Kentucky Built Ford Tough 225.
Silas is one of three drivers (Bryan Silas, Jose Wise and Peter Shepherd)
who will pull double duty under the lights Friday and Saturday.
Silas will have a busy day on Friday, the 13th at the 1.5-mile speed plant.
He will be tackling both ARCA RE/MAX Series and practice for the NASCAR
Craftsman Truck Series. Then, while focusing solely on his Nortrax-Shell Rotella T
Ford Fusion, he will be qualifying for the 13th installment on the 2007
schedule which is the WLWT Channel 5-150 scheduled to roll off shortly after
8:00pm local time.
Driving for two-time ARCA RE/MAX Series champion Andy Hillenburg in both
series, the rookie driver looks for a smooth and solid effort on Saturday night
hoping to earn additional respect from the 34 other competitors expected to
compete at the Sparta, Kentucky-based facility.
Silas, who has two previous NCTS starts at Kansas Speedway and Lowe’s Motor
Speedway this season knows the competition will be fierce, but the Stuart,
Florida native knows this is another chance to shine and he’s planning on
making the best of it.
“I’m looking forward to getting back in the trucks,?? said Silas, the driver
of the No. 71 Fast Track High Performance Driving School-Palm Beach Grading
Chevrolet Silverado. “It’s been a while since I’ve been in a truck, but they
are a lot of fun. We’re not looking  to set the world on fire Saturday night;
it’s all about gaining more experience and having a little fun too. A good
clean finish is all we’re looking for.??
When asked if competing in the ARCA RE/MAX Series event will help him for
Saturday night, Silas offered, “You never know. You always learn something when
you’re on the track. There’s a huge difference between the car and the
truck. But, I’ll have plenty of time to recognize the do’s and don’ts, which I
think can be an asset for Saturday night. We only have a few more truck races
left this season, we want to make the best out of all them.??
Nortrax, Fast Track High Performance Driving School and Palm Beach Grading
(PBG) will both be backing Silas’s third attempt in the NCTS.
“It’s great to have our sponsors from the ARCA division move over to the
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. They are very supportive of my racing career. As
a driver, I can’t ask for anything more and I truly appreciate everything
they do for me. Hopefully we can thank them even further with a good run on
Saturday night.??
