ADS Logistics' to Provide Logistics Management Services to Steelscape, Inc.
HOMEWOOD, Ill.--ADS Logistics, LLC (ADS), the national provider of integrated supply chain services to the metals industry, announced today that it has signed a letter of intent with Steelscape, Inc., to install the LoMaS logistics management system for all Steelscape plants and outsourced distribution facilities, including ADS Roll & Hold facilities.
The ADS LoMaS installation will include its metals transportation management system (automated load tendering, load building, dock scheduling, rail car track and trace, truck track and trace, proof of delivery, load optimization, rate tables, and carrier and customer master tables), its metals warehouse management system (inventory visibility and ordering over the Internet, and connectivity to Steelscape's SAP system for data exchange), and connectivity to users by standard EDI document transmission.
All four primary Steelscape production facilities, located in California, Washington, Louisiana and Alabama, will use the system. Steelscape will work with its carrier base to bring them onto the system as well.
The LoMaS system is expected to be operational later this year. Once it is in place, Steelscape will have one system that provides current inventory locations while offering customers access to inventory and in-transit information. Carriers will self-schedule their loads from Steelscape facilities using the system as well.
