AutoTrader.com Announces Exclusive Classifieds Relationship with MSN Autos
ATLANTA--AutoTrader.com, today announced a new strategic relationship with MSN Autos that makes AutoTrader.com the exclusive provider of new, used and certified pre-owned vehicle listings on MSN Autos. The alliance provides users of MSN Autos (http://autos.msn.com) with access to AutoTrader.com’s more than 3 million dealer and private seller vehicle listings and creates one of the most comprehensive automotive networks on the Internet.
The multi-year agreement expands AutoTrader.com’s industry-leading car shopping audience by enabling dealers to reach the large and rapidly growing consumer audience of MSN Autos. In 2006 AutoTrader.com rated as the most useful independent auto shopping site in the J.D. Power and Associates 2006 Used Autoshopper.com Study, while MSN Autos has consistently rated in the top 10 most trafficked automotive channels over the last year, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. As the two companies combine efforts, consumers who visit MSN Autos now have the ability to search AutoTrader.com’s new, used and certified pre-owned vehicle inventory, while taking advantage of the best features both sites have to offer, such as MyAutoTrader.com—a popular saved search and personal shopping cart function—and the new car reviews from award-winning automotive journalists on MSN Autos.
For the first time, through AutoTrader.com’s inventory, MSN Autos visitors will have access to new vehicle listings. In addition, AutoTrader.com will power the certified pre-owned information section on MSN Autos, providing consumers the opportunity to compare each respective manufacturer’s certified program in a side-by-side comparison.
Also under the newly-formed relationship, MSN Autos will provide AutoTrader.com with vehicle reviews, industry articles and video footage from the country’s premier auto shows. The featured content will be located within AutoTrader.com’s “Research & Compare” section, accessed from the site’s homepage.
“MSN Autos increases the breadth of AutoTrader.com’s already industry-leading audience and helps further deliver on our mission to provide our dealer customers with the more car buyers,” said Chip Perry, president and CEO of AutoTrader.com. “The launch of this relationship works in concert with our summer-long marketing campaign and further establishes AutoTrader.com as the premier auto classifieds site and the ultimate automotive marketplace.”
“We are very excited about the alliance with AutoTrader.com as it brings together MSN Autos’ industry-leading content with AutoTrader.com’s premiere classified offerings for the benefit of our MSN consumers,” said Scott Ehlers, general manager of MSN Marketplaces.
AutoTrader.com’s collaboration with MSN Autos adds to what is already one of the most expansive automotive networks on the web. In addition to MSN Autos, AutoTrader.com powers vehicle listings for Yahoo! Autos, AOL, AskPatty.com, Edmunds.com, Internet Broadcasting Systems syndicated television websites, NADAguides.com and Univision.com.
